Komatsu America to provide conversion kits for Tier 4 equipment in countries where Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel (ULSD) fuel is unavailable

June 17, 2015

Rolling Meadows, Ill., June 17, 2015 - Komatsu America Corp., a leading global heavy equipment manufacturer, today announced that to support current and future demand for pre-owned machines and fleets in countries where ULSD fuel is not available, Komatsu will make a new service available through our authorized Distributors and affiliates, beginning summer, 2015.

Innovative design, quality manufacturing and Komatsu CARE®, a premiere, complimentary maintenance program, enables Komatsu to offer high quality pre-owned equipment to the world. However, certain Tier 4 engine technology may not operate at peak performance when non-ULSD fuel is used.

In countries where ULSD fuel is not available, Komatsu will make available a conversion kit that removes exhaust gas after-treatment components. This will allow the machines to run properly, while achieving emissions levels that can be equal to new machines sold by Komatsu in these markets.

Please contact your Komatsu Distributor in the non-ULSD fuel market for additional information on this modification. Visit www.komatsu.com and use the Dealer Locator.
