On November 28, after three rounds of negotiations at Bauma China, Shantui signed a deal with Eritrean procurement agents worth $6 million. The deal is for 22 units of Shantui construction machinery, 10 SD42-3 bulldozers and 12 SG21-3 motor graders. The government of Eritrea aims to use this equipment in developing its mining operations domestically, primarily its gold mining operations. Shantui has a history of good relations with the East African nation, as this is the second deal Shantui has made with the government of Eritrea. The first order was placed in 2011,for 30 SD32W bulldozers and one SD42-3 bulldozer, worth a total of $7.5 million.
