XCMG 2000-ton crawler crane lifting over 1000-ton heavy cargo

On 8th June, in Guangdong Maoming Petrochemical Oil Quality Upgrade Project – a key national petrochemical project, a hydrocracking reactor with the weight of 958 tons and the length of more than 20 metres is in urgent need of installation. As the contractor of this project, No. 10 Construction Company of SINOPEC will utilize XCMG 2000-ton crawler crane to cope with the difficulties in the hoisting work.
Steel pipe scaffolds stood around the construction site in great numbers, and only a tiny space with the length and the width of 20 metres respectively for hoisting work, which was full of challenges. Despite the tight schedule and heavy work, it only took XCMG 2000-ton crawler crane less than a half day to carry out the rapid assembly in the tiny space by giving full play to its split disassembly and assembly function.
On the construction site, it was seen that XGC 28000’s 72-metre long main arm pointed directly to the sky, and the 640-ton super weight device was in good condition. The hoisting work would soon commence. It is reported that this hoisting work requires extremely high performance of the crane. It is the first time for XCMG 2000-ton crane to lift the expensive device with the weight of more than 1000 tons. Successful hoisting work will definitely set a new record in XCMG’s history.
The 2000-ton crawler crane started up with a roar. The hydrocracking reactor went up slowly and successfully rose over the other hydrocracking reactor on the ground. An hour later, the 20-metre high hydrocracking reactor was successfully installed in the preset position. It is reported that the lifting torque is 26000 tons/metre, 100% load rate. Mr Wang Shaogang, chief engineer who is in charge of large-scale hositing equipment of Maoming Petrochemical said that the clients of Maoming Petrochemical spokely highly of XCMG 2000-ton crawler crane for its good functions from assembly to hoisting work.
Since June 2011 when XCMG 2000-ton crawler crane participated in SINOPEC Wuhan 800,000 tons/ year Ethylene Engineering, No. 10 Construction Company of SINOPEC has successfully used the crane again to cope with the great challenges of construction work. Thanks to the supreme function and reliable quality of XCMG 2000-ton crawler crane, such remarkable achievement has consolidated the crucial position of Chinese-built super large-tonnage cranes in the key national construction projects.
