The Company held a celebratory ceremony marking the production of our 50,000th bulldozer on March 6, 2012. That is 50 with four zeroes! In 2011, we became the world’s largest maker and seller of bulldozers, with slightly more than 10,000 produced last year. That is some 40% more than the second ranked competitor in the world. Shantui’s name has long been synonymous with the word bulldozer in China, much like Jello, Kleenex or Band-aid are with their product categories in the USA. On hand to welcome the machine off the production line were Owen Zhang, chairman & CEO, and Wang Fei, general manager, among others. While bulldozer production has slowed into 2012 due to a stall in the overall domestic construction machinery market in China, export sales of bulldozers continue to hold their own and still account for the lion’s share of the Company’s enterprise-wide profits.
